In search of solutions to water scarcity and basic sanitation treatment in Brazil, FAMBRAS has joined with large charitable foundations in the United Arab Emirates to bring drinking water to Brazilian communities.

The partnership with the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian & Charity Foundation, the Suqia UAE Institution, the Embassy and Consulate General of the United Arab Emirates and the City of São Paulo enabled the installation of units for the “Water, Health & Life” project in regions that lack sanitation.

This water and sewage treatment system uses a totally national technology and operates with solar energy, making installation and operation costs low. Through the Water Purification Module, it is possible to purify up to 400 liters of water per hour, with the efficiency of eliminating up to 99.5% of bacteria and fungi in the water. The Sewage Treatment Module is of the conventional type, with activated sludge with MBBR (Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor) technology, which results in a high quality treatment. Both systems were designed to adapt to different needs and difficult-to-access environments, thus offering satisfactory sanitation to the population.
